Possum in the Map Pack

[Verse] There’s a possum in the map pack, Hiding by the office wall. My neighbor’s right beside me, But I can’t be seen at all. We share a street, we share a trade, We share the coffee someone made. I checked the sign, I checked the suite, The shop was still upon the street. [Chorus] Possum in the map pack, Playing dead behind the pin. Don’t go selling off the toolbox— We might show up once again. Move the map and look around; Missing isn’t underground. [Verse] Nobody signed a note to say Exactly what had changed that day. We compared the streets and names, And stopped pretending all were same. The owner took another call: “Can you come around this fall?” I took the flowers off the desk And got back to the work we’d left. [Final chorus] Possum in the map pack, Keep your little hiding place. We’ve got customers to look for, And a shop that needs its space.
